Except for the user group “Administrator”, you can define the rights of all other user groups or create new groups under Administration > General > User groups. With the many configuration options, you can perfectly map the hierarchy of your company. Because write permissions can be granted not only “globally”, but also restricted to the own department or subordinate employees.
The "scope" of a right (own department, subordinate employees, etc.) can now also be granted for entire departments, branches, or staff categories. Which ones are relevant can be defined at the very bottom below the rights. Multiple selections are possible here as well. This way, for example, it is possible to authorize an employee to access the base data for a specific branch - regardless of whether this person is themselves a manager or a member of the area. Regarding departments, this function makes it possible, for example, to authorize a person to the holiday overview of another department to enable cross-departmental holiday planning.
It is also possible to restrict access to employees with a specific staff category. For example, schedulers can be granted the right to schedule only employees from certain trades (e.g., rigging).
In the base data, you can assign these user groups to your employees. An employee can also be assigned to multiple groups. In this case, the group with the “highest” right counts for the employee. So if a right is set to “write” in one of the groups, the employee has write permissions. If you want to give additional special rights to only one or a few employees, you can, for example, create a new user group with only these special rights and assign it to the corresponding employees. Existing user groups can also simply be copied and then adapted to the additional rights.
For each user group, for example, a specific period can be specified in which the stored working hours are automatically approved. To do this, enter the period in the respective user group and activate automatic approval under Administration > Time recording > General.
