If you "book an employee directly", they are registered in the system as "firmly booked" for the job. This is, for example, suitable for permanent employees.
If you drag employees onto ‘book directly’, you still need to send them a booking email via the email icon at the top right so that the employee receives the booking notification by email or push notification. To avoid having to do this for each employee individually, send this email only after all employees have been scheduled. All employees you have dragged to "book directly" by then will appear collectively under "Send booking email". Besides the option to enter free text or HTML text templates including formatting, this email contains all relevant information about the job plus the booking confirmation in black and white.
If the job was planned well in advance and you want to make sure that your booked employees are still available for the job, you can manually send a "confirmation email" via the email icon at the top right. The email contains a link through which the employee can finally confirm the booking. Once the link is clicked, the name in the list turns green. A confirmation email is sent automatically when you tick the box "Job planning finished" below.
You can edit the categories to which you assign employees afterwards by clicking on the green pencil. A tab opens where you can split the categories within a job and add comments. This is useful, for example, if only rough planning is done initially and the schedulers want to work out the detailed planning later.
You can enter more employees than previously specified in the categories. Employees can be removed from the list again using the red "x" at the end of the row. To display deleted or unavailable employees again, check the corresponding box at the top.
Subcontractors, vehicles, and rooms can also be booked similarly to employees or freelancers. For rooms, note that by default only the rooms of the location selected in the job are displayed. If no location is stored in the job, all available rooms of all locations are shown.
